CSA Electrical Power Quality / EMC Workshop
Electrical Power Quality/EMC Workshop
CANCELLED
Description
With the increasing use of complex electrical and electronic equipment, there is a growing need for Electromagnetic Compatibility standards for the benefit of industry and the well-being of our society. Compliance to them ensures proper functioning of sensitive equipment and limits the level of disturbances and interference. Many industries and commercial interests can be significantly affected by problems in EMC and it is becoming a growing issue within the Utilities sector and compliance will ensure compatibility among different customers within the supply system resulting in fewer distortions and enhances power quality.
Objective
This Power Quality tutorial introduces a practical approach to maintain electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) between equipment as described in CSA standards (based on IEC standards) for disturbances below 9 kHz. Addressed issues include PQ environment, emission, equipment immunities, disturbance origins, disturbance predictions and assessments and solutions.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The tutorial has been developed for a wide range of practitioners from industrial and utility electrical engineers responsible in the design of power systems. Attendees can include:
- Utilities, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians responsible for design of power systems.
- Consulting Engineers working on power system design products for both utilities and equipment manufacturers
